The Metacomet-Monadnock Trail in Mass. is a 117 mile continuation of the Metacomet Trail in Conn. The trail begins in the Hanging hills of Meriden, Conn. It follows the trap rock ridges northwards on the west side of the Conn. river to Holyoke, Mass. and crossing the river at the OxBow. It then follows the Holyoke range easterly and then swings northwards over Mt.Lincoln and Mt. Grace to the NH line. There are three shelters and more are planed. The end of the trail is Mt.Monadnock in southern NH is one of the most climbed Mt. in the world and should not be missed. A guide book is available from the below URL
