Description
Trail is moderate, however it requires sure footing while walking. There are some very steep terrain to cover at the end where the trail meets the Sheltowee on the banks of the Cumberland River. Dog Slaughter is about 1.5 miles into the trail and always has a fall, even though the winter snow makes the best pics. Two access points to the trail. One from a fireroad just past the rangers station on 90. The other from the Sheltowee end of the trail. This trail on the east bank of the river down stream from Cumberland Falls. Kentucky Parks stock all tributaries with trout.

Directions to Hike
Cumberland Falls is 20 miles southwest of Corbin. Take US 25W to KY 90. If traveling south on I-75, take exit 25. If traveling north on I-75, take exit 15.
