Description
Took a one nite run on the Orange Trail.

1. No water, must be hiked in.
2. Abundant Deer Ticks
3. Deep Sand, difficult to trek for youngsters
4. No Other Hikers (except the 2 partiers who got lost from Pine Cone Camping Area)
5. Recent Tornado damage had been cleared from trail but our backcountry site we were assigned had dangerous limb overhangs any place tent set up was suitable.

Upside:
1. Horse traffic was accomodating (especially since we brought dog)
2. Friendly & helpful rangers
3. Enjoyed seeing desert vegetation.

Directions to Hike
Orange Trail can be hopped on by following the fire road S of forest ranger headquarters & backcountry parking lot. Or take main road south to Pine Cone Camp Site and cut through Camp Site C5 to get to fire road. (Trailhead is not marked either place).
