Together with a friend I hiked the Southern Illinois River To River Trail in the Fall of 2007. We opted for the start at Elizabethtown which is the recommended start by the River To River Trail Society. We spent 10 days doing the hike with 2 resupplies at our vehicle. I enjoyed the trail alot. There are waterfalls, natural bridges, lakes, many striking and unusual rock formations and natural beauty aong the way. Generally the trail is well marked, but there are places where it is confusing if you don't know the trail well. I spent the past 3 years measuring the trail and collecting GPS waypoints. I have recently published a trail guide with this information in it. This guide can be purchased by visiting www.rivertorivertrailguide.com. I like this trail alot and am planning another thru-hike for this year.
