This trail is a moderately rigorous overnight hike, depending on ground conditions. It is a one way trail to Clubhouse Beach at the Southern tip of mainland Everglades National Park. About a third of the trail is the remnant of an old access road. The trail runs along wide, open, costal plains and through densely wooded areas. The last 200 yard leg of the trail crosses a salt marsh and is always wet (ankle to mid-calf water/mud). A backcountry permit is required for camping at Clubhouse Beach. There are no facilities or fresh water. Mosquitos can be intense.
