Description
A great little hike that shows the true beauty of the Yosemite Backcountry. It is only 3 mile or so off the road, fairly flat in the beginning but a good climb at the end with about 900ft. elevation gain in about a mile. Once at the top of the ridge there are three lakes to choses from. I have only camped at the first one but have hike to all. Good fishing and plenty of water and bear rops at the first and mayby the third. At the top of the ridge you can see Clouds Rest and Half Dome. The thing that i like most of all is that i can drive up from LA and start my hike and get away from people right away and continue the next day.
Enjoy

Directions to Hike
From Tioga Pass: About 30 minutes from the entrance, trailhead is Merced Lake. Take Sunrise Lake trail. Just Passed Tuolome Medows
