A fairly easy hike suitable for children 8+. Beginning @ the Lodgepole Campground parking lot to Tokopah Falls a 1200' cascade from the high valley beyond. The hike follows the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River. There are many opportunities to splash or swim along the trail if the current isn't too strong. The scenery is beautiful lush and blooming even in late summer. Within 1/4 mile of the falls you rise out of the woods into a high glacial bowl of granite talus. A prepared trail takes you to the base of the falls. The geology is spectacular giving day hikers a taste of the High Sierra including marmots.
