This is a moderately strenuous hike, with the good potential for a single overnight in either open land or a primitive campsite. The hike is between Laguna Mountain Recreation Area and Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. The hike winds up through trees before dropping through great hills of chapperal. There was a good deal of wildlife, including deer, wild turkeys, and rattlesnakes. The only water is at the trailhead in Laguna, so bring all you can! 1250' climb, 2700' drop.
