This trail goes from Glacier Point, around Vernal and Nevada falls, and down to the valley floor. There is another trail from Glacier Point to the valley floor called 4-mile trail, which is much steeper, less scenic, and supposedly strenuous. The panorama trail is basically like walking down steps for 8 miles. I go pretty slow downhill, so it took me about 8 hours. Most people will do it in 6-8 unless you're a trail runner. And the hardest part is at the end, when your legs are already tired and your quads screaming for mercy. I couldn't walk down a small incline when I was finished. That said, this may be the most beautiful hike I've ever taken. The views all the way down are incredible. You basically work your way around the rim of Yosemite. Go in the late spring or early summer so you can get the waterfalls at full force. There are lots of people for a trail this difficult, but it's not nearly as crowded as the valley floor. Highly recommended, but make sure you get your legs in shape before you go!
