Hike from Kennedy Meadows resort trailhead to Kennedy Lake, about 15 miles roundtrip. The hike has moderate elevation gain, with some nice spots to camp along the way. Some fisherman going out to the lake do this as a day trip, so you can go light and make it in a day. Lots of horses pack campers to and from the lake, along with the fishermen, so you won\'t have the trail to yourself. The scenery is moderate for the Sierra along the way, with some breathtaking meadows at the top. There are some nice camping spots along a meadow near the lake, but they will probably be taken by the campers which are packed in by horses. The lake itself is nearly unapproachable due to the meadow becoming more of a marsh as you get close. No real beach access is available either. Overall, we enjoyed the pictures we got of the meadows, but it was a lot of work for little payoff. I\'ve heard that there is some brilliant hiking if you\'re willing to go back farther for a couple of days.
