Shelter Information

BScout202, 06/18/05 "Pretty big shelter (compared to ones less than 58 miles South), but not a lot of room for tents if you are in a large group, or if the shelter is full. There is a cool place in the front of the shelter where some boards are missing so you can sit on the wood and cook as if you were cooking on a table. Water almost next to the shelter, except for a steep but short trip down. If your using tablets or droplets, there is a convenient PVC pipe to quickly fill water bottles with, and some areas to put a filter in, too. Outhouse only has one wall, and boards aren't tight together. The shelter seems to be clean, roomy and dry; though I didn't get to sleep in it. If you're coming from the North like I did, there are a series of very steep, maybe 300 yard-long climbs before getting here. Very painful to get up if you pulled a muscle like me. Other than that it is fine. I didn't have a problem with any animals, but I was in a tent. No other scouts complained, so I guess its fine."

Privy is almost comical, you just have to see it. It looks like a side of an old barn, but it works." Please feel free to add your own comments.
