There is parking at the trailhead on the right past the Sipsey Rec area. First couple of miles follows an old road. It passes a cemetary from the turn of the century. After a slight down grade you come up on a waterfall that is approx 100\' high. The trees and rocks are covered in moss here and is a beautiful site. Going further trail 202 intersects 209 but you have to cross the Sipsey River. In March it is bitter cold. There is a tree that has fallen and is suspended above the water from bank-to-bank. It gets pretty narrow on the far end but I made it with a pack. If you go left on 209 you will follow the river gorge with a rock bluff on both sides of you. This is an old forrest and the trail has been very well maintained. The trail is by and large level with numerous dips where you have to cross streams. You will come to a fork where 204 branches off but keep to the left following the river. After approx 4 miles you will come to the intersections of trail 201. There is no getting out of wading the river here. Once you go up the other bank the trail gets confusing. It appears to run left, right, and up the side of the bluff. If you start up the bluff you will see natural stone steps that water runs down. Climb these steps and at the top you will see the trail leading to the left. This is 201. This leads through a large area of downed pine trees and back to the parking lot. This runs approx 2-2.5 miles.
