"Having been touring in Europe over the last 8 months I found a hammock concept in England called the Pod. It is, as the manufacturers say, a versatile travel accessory. They come in two sizes Pro and Solo. The Pro is large enough for two people and the Solo perfect for one. The design allows you to get inside the two layers of nylon and sleep with your pack protected from bugs and moisture and enables you to keep a straight back. The great thing about these pods is that they come with krabs as hanging points and cam buckles on webbing for hanging. This means no more fancy knot tying to hang or adjust and the webbing will grip to almost anything so you dont need tree limbs. Also the webbing does not dig into and harm the bark of the tree if you use the same trees often, which as a tree enthusiast I find very important. All of the components incorporated into the Pod I would take with me anyway and all are detachable for different uses. I have used it as a ground sheet, tarp, sleeping bag inner, sun shade and even a down wind sail on my kayak.
I don't know if they are available in the U.S. but before I left I bought one of each, Solo $90 and Pro $130 and can't do without them now. I used to use a henessey hammock but found the amount of hanging points difficult and the fact that I can only use it as a hammock restricting."
